Wilderness Hiking In Kachemak Bay State Park

Take an early morning cruise aboard the vessel Seabird to the trails across Kachemak Bay. Day hiking or overnight camping are a great way to explore the park. Morning drop offs at Glacier Spit lead you to a leisurely 3.5 mile hike to the lake at the foot of one of the many glaciers in the Harding Ice Field. The water taxi returns to pick you up on the other end of the trail. This is a great hike and can be made by just about anyone of walking age. Other park trails range from an easy hour long trek through a temperate rain forest to a vigorous alpine climb above timberline. The price for round trip water taxi to Kachemak Bay state park is $75.00 per person Plus a $4.00 park fee.

Marine Wildlife Tours

These tours are an excellent way to see Kachemak bay up close and personal. Thousands of sea birds as well as sea otters and seals make this a great way to explore the bay. The 2 hour trip will give the viewer a taste of the ecological diversity this area has to offer. $
